Last updated: 27 July 2026. Tabla Mridang Sagar is licensed, not sold. It is licensed under Apple's standard Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement, together with the App Store Terms of Service. The terms below are supplemental: they explain how that licence applies to this particular app. Where the two conflict, Apple's agreement governs the licence itself.
Your licence
When you download the app you receive a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use it on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service and the standard end user licence agreement. The licence does not transfer ownership of the app to you.
Permitted use
Use the app for your own practice, teaching and study, including printing sheets for your students. You may not:
- sell, rent, sub-licence, lend or otherwise redistribute the app or a copy of it;
- copy the app or its content other than as the licence and applicable law allow;
- reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the app, except to the extent that law expressly permits despite this restriction;
- remove or obscure any notice of copyright, trade mark or authorship;
- use the app to store or distribute material that infringes someone else's rights or breaks the law.
Ownership
The app, its source code, interface design, notation layout, icon, name and other original material are owned by Shiromani Designs Ltd or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property law. Traditional taals, thekas and bols are part of a shared musical tradition; what belongs to us is this app's expression of them, not the tradition itself.
Your compositions
Everything you write in the app remains yours. We claim no ownership of your compositions, notes or voice notes, we do not collect them, and we have no access to them — see the app privacy policy.
You are responsible for the content you enter and for having the right to enter it. If you transcribe material from a book, recording or teacher, the rights in that underlying material stay with whoever holds them, and it is for you to respect those rights when you share or publish what you produce.
Backups are your responsibility
The app stores your book on your device. There is no cloud copy and no account to recover from, so exporting a JSON backup is the only way to protect your work against a lost, reset or replaced device, or against deleting the app. Please export backups regularly and keep them somewhere you control. We cannot recover data that has not been backed up by you.
An educational tool
The app is a notation and practice aid. It does not replace a teacher, and neither the app nor the starter content it ships with is presented as a definitive or authoritative account of any gharana, taal or composition. Notation conventions differ between teachers and traditions; use the app in the way your own training requires.
Updates, changes and availability
We may release updates that add, change or remove features, and support for older iOS versions or devices may end over time. Continued availability of the app on the App Store is subject to Apple's policies as well as our own decisions. We will not knowingly remove your ability to export your own data.
Payment and refunds
The app is sold through the App Store. Apple handles pricing, payment, receipts and refunds under the App Store Terms of Service; refund requests are made to Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. If a problem with the app itself is the reason, we would like to hear about it as well through app support.
Disclaimers and liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the app is provided as it is, and we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or free from errors. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud — and nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
Subject to that, Shiromani Designs Ltd is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data that you have not backed up as described above.
Apple's position
Apple is not a party to these supplemental terms and is not responsible for the app or its content. Under Apple's standard end user licence agreement, Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of that agreement and may enforce it against you. Any claim relating to the app should be directed to us, not to Apple.
Applicable law
These terms are governed by the laws applicable in the United Kingdom jurisdiction in which Shiromani Designs Ltd is established. Courts with lawful jurisdiction will deal with disputes, subject to any mandatory consumer rights that apply where you live.
