Last updated: 27 July 2026. This policy covers the Tabla Mridang Sagar app for iPhone and iPad, published by Shiromani Designs Ltd. Use of this website is covered separately by the website privacy policy.
The short version
The app has no account and no cloud service behind it. Your compositions, taals, categories, bols, written notes and voice notes are stored on your own device. We do not collect them, we cannot see them, and there is no analytics, advertising or tracking in the app. Its App Store privacy label is Data Not Collected.
Who we are
Tabla Mridang Sagar is published by Shiromani Designs Ltd, an independent design and technology studio based in the United Kingdom. For any question about this policy, email info@shiromanidesigns.com.
What the app stores on your device
Everything you create in the app is written to storage belonging to the app on your device:
- Compositions, including title, author or source, instrument, taal, category, cycles, matra markers and bols.
- Written notes attached to a composition.
- Voice notes you record against a composition.
- Custom taals, categories and bol keyboard entries you add.
- App settings such as tempo, volume and display preferences.
- A local backup file, and any PDF sheets you generate, until you remove them.
This data is not transmitted anywhere by the app. It is covered by your device's own protections, and by your device or iCloud device backup if you have one enabled — that backup is controlled by Apple and by your settings, not by us.
What we collect
Nothing. The app contains no account system, no analytics or crash-reporting library, no advertising, no third-party tracking software and no cloud sync. It does not build a profile of you, it does not track you across other apps or websites, and it does not sell or share personal information.
The app does not require an internet connection to work. If you choose to email us for support, we receive whatever you put in that email; that contact is handled as described in the website privacy policy.
Microphone
The app asks for microphone access for one purpose: recording a voice note against a composition. Recording happens only while you are actively recording, the audio is saved on your device with the rest of your book, and it is never uploaded by the app.
You can decline microphone access and every other feature continues to work. Permission can be changed at any time in the iOS Settings app, under Tabla Mridang Sagar or under Privacy & Security › Microphone.
Exports, printing and sharing
PDF sheets and JSON backups leave the app only when you send them, through the standard iOS share sheet or document picker. Once a file is sent to another app, a printer, a messaging service or a cloud drive, it is handled by that service under its own terms and privacy policy — it is outside our control.
A JSON backup contains your compositions. Please treat it as you would a notebook, and do not send it to us unless we have specifically asked for it to diagnose a problem.
Purchases
The app is bought through Apple's App Store. Apple processes the payment and holds the transaction details; we never see your payment card, address or Apple Account credentials. Apple provides developers with aggregated sales reports, and — only if you have chosen to share analytics with developers in your iOS settings — aggregated, non-identifying usage and crash information. That processing is governed by Apple's own privacy policy rather than this one.
Children
The app is a general educational tool suitable for all ages and is often used by younger students. Because it collects no data, contains no advertising, has no accounts and has no links out to user-generated content, there is nothing for a child to disclose to us through the app.
Your data-protection rights
Data-protection rights such as access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability and objection apply to personal information held by an organisation. Because the app holds your content on your own device and transmits none of it to us, we hold no app data about you to access, correct or delete. Your book is already entirely in your hands, and the JSON export gives you a portable copy of it whenever you want one.
If you have contacted us by email, that correspondence is held by the studio and you can ask us about it at any time. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Deleting your data
Delete individual compositions, taals, categories, bols or voice notes inside the app. To remove everything, delete the app from your device — that removes the book stored with it. Export a JSON backup first if you want to keep a copy, because we hold nothing to restore from.
Files you have already exported or shared — PDFs, JSON backups, voice notes sent to someone — are not affected by deleting the app, and need removing wherever you put them.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of the app introduces anything that changes this position — optional cloud sync, accounts or any form of analytics — this page will be updated before that version is released, and the app will ask for whatever consent is required at the time. The date at the top of this page shows the latest revision.
