Please do not send your JSON backup unless we ask for it. It contains your compositions, and we would rather not hold a copy of your book.

The metronome is silent
Check the ring/silent switch on the side of the device, then the volume while the app is playing — iOS sets media volume separately. Inside the app, the playback panel has its own metronome volume slider, which can be turned all the way down. If another app is holding audio (a call, a video, a music app), close it and press play again.
A voice note will not record
The app needs microphone permission, and it is only asked for once. Open the iOS Settings app, scroll to Tabla Mridang Sagar, and turn Microphone on — or go to Settings › Privacy & Security › Microphone and enable it there. Recording is also blocked while another app is using the microphone.
A composition has disappeared from the list
Usually a search or filter is still active. Clear the search field and reset the filter, and the full book returns. If it is genuinely gone and you have a JSON backup, restore it — see the backup steps below.
The PDF or JSON share sheet does nothing
Both export through the standard iOS share sheet. If it opens and closes immediately, try Save to Files rather than a messaging app, and check that the destination app has enough storage. Printing goes through the same sheet — choose Print and pick your printer, or Save to Files for a PDF.
Restoring a backup did not bring everything back
A restore uses the JSON file you selected, so it returns the book as it was at the moment that file was exported — anything written afterwards is not in it. Check the date on the file before restoring, and export a fresh backup first if the current book still has work in it.
The app will not open, or opens to an empty book
Force-quit the app and reopen it, then restart the device if it persists. Do not delete the app while troubleshooting — deleting it removes the local book. If you can open the app at all, export a JSON backup first, then email us what you saw.

Export and restore.
Your book lives on the device. A backup is the only copy that survives a lost phone, a reset or a deleted app — export one whenever you have added work worth keeping.

- Open Settings in the app, then Storage & Backup.
- Tap Refresh Backup so the file matches the book as it stands now.
- Tap Share / Export JSON and send the file somewhere you control — Files, iCloud Drive, a computer or your own email.
- Install the app on the new device and open it once.
- Go to Settings › Storage & Backup and tap Restore JSON Backup.
- Pick the compositions-backup.json file in the file picker and confirm.
- Check the composition count on the Storage & Backup screen against what you expected before deleting anything.
Before you delete the app or reset a device:
export the JSON backup and confirm the file exists outside the
app. Deleting the app removes the compositions, taals, categories,
bols, notes and voice notes stored on that device, and we hold no
copy to restore from.
